Bibliography Management

Bibliography management tools (also known as citation or reference management tools) help you organize your research sources and generate bibliographies in muliple citation formats.

University of Warsaw Library support the following bibliography management tools:

  • EndNoteWeb
  • Mendeley
  • Citavi
  • Zotero
EndNote

EndNote is a citation management software package, used to manage bibliographies and references when writing essays and articles. It can used in the browser for free as EndNote Basic, or it can be purchased as a Desktop client for more advanced functionality.

Mendeley

Mendeley is a web and desktop-based citation manager. With a free version of Mendeley, you receive 2GB of online storage space for PDFs and document attachments and one private group with up to three members.

Zotero

Zotero is a free, easy-to-use citation management tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share your research sources.

Its features help users:

  • collect citation information from article databases, catalogs and websites,
  • generate bibliographies and in-text citations,
  • store and organize PDFs, documents, links, and notes,
  • collaborate and share with others using groups,
  • backup and access with an online copy.
Citavi

Citavi – Citavi Free offers all of the features of other Citavi editions. The only difference is that the number of references is limited to 100.
With Citavi you can: search databases and library catalogs directly from within Citavi, by Picker quickly add its information to Citavi, save copies of webpages as PDFs, find and save all available PDF full text articles in Citavi. Everything in one place and always at hand.
