Scopus AI available from 1 May 2025

We are pleased to announce that from 1 May to 31 December 2025, academic staff, PhD students and students at the University of Warsaw can use the Scopus AI tool.

The tool was purchased at the request of the UW Rectoral authorities.

Scopus AI is an innovative tool from Elsevier that uses artificial intelligence to support researchers, PhD students, professors and users in advanced search of scientific literature, discovery of new research areas and analysis of existing trends and links between publications.

Scopus AI enables:

  • searching using natural language (full queries),
  • automatic creation of subject summaries,
  • visualisation of results and relationships between publications,
  • intelligent recommendations on related literature.

How to access:

  • Scopus AI is available on the website of the University of Warsaw Library (BUW) – under Online Resources > Online Databases > Scopus
  • The link leads directly to the Scopus platform where, after logging in, the user can use Scopus AI features.

Technical requirements:

  • No additional software or application installation is required.
  • Access is possible via a web browser (current versions of browsers such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox are recommended).
  • Access to the Scopus database is possible:
    • on computers in the University of Warsaw network (Select “UW computers”).
Access has been set up via IP authentication. You can see your account name in the top right corner of the Scopus home page. You do not need to log in before searching in Scopus, but to take advantage of services such as saving searches and setting up email alerts, you can register with Scopus. The link to register is at the top right of the product page.
    • remotely on your own devices after logging in with your BUW library card number and the password assigned to your account (select “Home computers”).

The project has been prepared within the framework of the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” programme at the University of Warsaw.

We strongly invite you to try it out!
