Library campaign Return Without Fees at BUW
The University of Warsaw Library, in cooperation with the Students’ Council of the University of Warsaw, is organising a campaign that allows users to return overdue library materials without incurring late fees.
The Return Without Fees campaign will take place on April 13 and May 19, 2026, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, at the BUW building located at 56/66 Dobra Street in Warsaw.
The campaign applies to materials borrowed from the University of Warsaw Library (BUW) and the University of Warsaw Medical Library. It does not cover items borrowed from faculty libraries of the University.
On these days, users who have overdue books, CDs, or Kindle readers will be able to return them without paying overdue fines, regardless of when the fees were originally incurred.
Returns can be made:
- at the Circulation Desk at BUW,
- via self-check machines (for books),
- at the Return Box (“Trezor”) located in the BUW passage (level 0, in front of the library entrance),
- by post or courier (the date of dispatch applies).
The initiative applies only to materials returned on the campaign dates. It does not apply to cases under debt collection or legal proceedings, nor to fees related to lost or damaged items.
Detailed rules of the campaign (in Polish only) are available on the BUW website (Events section).
