Opening hours

From May 9, 2025 the Library is open:

*People planning a longer stay at BUW should move their belongings to the self-service lockers on level -1 before the cloakroom closes.

In the self-service mode:

• You can enter the Library only with a valid library card.  UW students and staff can activate their card as a library card at any time online. If you are not a University member and do not have a valid library card, your first visit must be scheduled during the opening hours of the Registration Point.
• You can use our collections in the Open Stacks area, WiFi (BUW.Hotspot) and online resources.
• You can borrow books from the Open Stacks and the Textbook Collection, renew the return dates and pay fines at the Selfcheck stations.
• You can pick up books ordered from the Closed Stacks in the Pick-up Locker 24 hours a day.
• You can return borrowed books to the Return Box or via the Selfcheck stations.

Please note that on the days before the fixed closing dates, the Library is open until 10 pm The following  days the Library opens at 8 am.

• Monday – Sunday – 7 am – 12 midnight

Self-service mode: Monday – Friday 7 am – 9 am, 9 pm – 12 midnight, Saturday 7 am – 9 am, 6 pm – 12 midnight, Sunday 7 am – 12 midnight (only Information Desk open 3 pm – 8 pm).

A reading room for parents with children is available during the Information Desk opening hours.

The garden is open 7 days a week (excuding days when special events are organised) in the following hours:

• 1 – 30 Aptil : 8 am – 6 pm
• 1 May – 30 September: 8 am – 8 pm
• 1 – 31 October: 8 am – 6 pm
• 1 November – 31 March: 8am – 3 pm (without access to the roof)

The entrance to the garden is from Dobra Street, at the junction with Gęsta Street.

Admission is free.
