Which holdings can be/cannot be borrowed? Print

Search the online catalogue and check the field "Status" to know which holdings can be/cannot be borrowed.

Information: Available means that you can borrow it.
Information: Due Date: 26-08-2013 21:00 means that the book is on loan (you can reserve it).
Information: Non-Circulating means that you cannot borrow it (you can read it on the Library premises only) .

Items placed in the Open Stacks are marked with labels in several colours:

  • red lebel or red dot - available on site - it means that you can use a abook or a journal on the Library premises
  • blue, yellow or white label - available for check-out (to patrons with borrowing rights) - it means that you can check it out.

University of Warsaw Library does not lend out:

  • items from Open stacks marked with red labels or red points
  • items from separate Library divisions and reading rooms
  • items from Special Collections
  • encyclopedias, dictionaries and bibliographic publications and other publications of  reference character
  • periodical publications
  • newspapers
  • items published before 1950
  • items in poor condition
  • items rare, difficult to purchase or containing numerous tables, maps, illustrations, files or with loose sheets of paper
  • items marked as rare – “Cim.” symbol
  • microforms.
